If your vehicle cannot be titled or registered by a county treasurer because you do not have the proper title documents, you may be able to file a bond as a condition of obtaining a title and registration plates. However, a vehicle issued a junking certificate cannot be reinstated through the bonding procedure unless the vehicle is 25 years old or older, (Iowa Code 321.24)

If you have a vehicle on your property that you are trying to get a bonded title for, it may be considered an abandoned vehicle. Iowa Code 321.89 defines an abandoned vehicle as a vehicle that has been unlawfully parked on private property or has been placed on private property without the consent of the owner or person in control of the property for more than 24 hours, then the vehicle would be considered abandoned.
